Description
The structural decisions behind arrangement work — how stems are placed, how visual weight is distributed, how different material types interact in a composition — are learnable as principles rather than acquired through trial and error alone. This module covers those principles with enough specificity to be applicable across flower varieties, brief styles, and format types rather than tied to a single demonstration setup.
You’ll work with:
- Stem placement and spiral mechanics for hand-tied work — building structure that holds without over-binding
- Visual weight distribution in vessel arrangements: focal placement, negative space, and managing asymmetry deliberately
- Material hierarchy: how to sequence different stem types, textures, and scale relationships within a single composition
Duration: 5-7 hours
Outcome: A structural and compositional framework for arrangement work that applies across formats — producing more consistent results and a clearer basis for making deliberate design decisions.
